What is Redsn0w?

iPhone Dev Team’s – Redsn0w is a multi-platform iPhone jailbreak and unlock tool, which mean it works on Mac and Windows. The recently launched Reds0w 0.9.6b2 is also based on GeoHot’s Limera1n exploit, just like the Chronic Dev Team’s Greenpois0n. The Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 has a capability to hack/jailbreak iOS 4.1 that runs on almost all iOS devices, such as the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad (on iOS 3.2.2) and iPod Touch 4G/3G/2G (Non MC Model only), and even AppleTV 2G. in addition, the latest version of Redsn0w software jailbreak tool offers a custom boot land recovery logos for the older iDevices such as the iPod touch 2G (Non MC), iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS (old bootrom). The application also allows Windows users to restore to a custom IPSW files that are cooked using PwnageTool, who also developed by then Dev Team. Lastly, iPhone Dev Team confirmed that Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 has no problem jailbreaking the iOS 4.2 Gold Master version.
